Hi Colin, Mal, George & all The Canterbury Caravans Staff,
We have been away for 8 weeks now & I just want to say that my Paramount Duet is FANTASTIC. in all ways . It travels so well behind our car. The comfort inside & the finish is excellent. I just want to add that the service I received from all your staff was second to none. Five star service is my vote.

Hi Colin,
Just thought I drop you a line and tell you about our fantastic van. I think I comment to Gordon at least once a day how much I love it!
Left home on 18th July, dropped into your factory and met the electrician. Forgot his name but he was absolutely wonderful. Went right over the van, changed a few wiring things and then we were on our way to Karumba. Arrived there on 29th July, stayed for eight weeks, I worked. Gordon is still on Long Service ! Have had five days in Port Douglas. Two days at Cape Tribulation , and now we’re in Weipa. Now that trip was real off road . 500 ks of corrugation, dips, bulldust, and mountains of red red dust !!! We averaged 60 km per hour. At one stage we were air borne !!! There is no way I could even dream of towing a standard van up there. However there were a coiuple of vans – Jaco would you believe !!! It took them 22hrs travelling time. Our time was 14hrs, So we did really well !!! Was too scared to open cupboards, however when we did we had two broken glasses, not bad eh !!! The first day we had the hatch thing happening, the second day we taped up vents , turned off the fridge and the dust factor was a lot less.
There is only one thing that we have picked on the van that could be improved . Where the sulage pipes come out, perhaps you can make some sort of deflector or protector plate. We did 120 ks from Kyuna to Julia Creek and stones flicked up and smashed the piping , did’nt pick it until we had a shower that night. Wondered where all that water was coming from !!! Apart from that it towes really well. Would never have a van without a shower and toilet, some of the parks have really grotty facilities. I don’t even bother to use them at all ! Our van is our home and I keep on thinking how lucky we were to be in your yard at the right time.
Gordon has tech screwed 6mm rubber flap across the front of the van to protect from the stones. We have had so many people come and look at it. Have given two lots your address. One lady was from Melbourne, we met her at Archer River Roadhouse, The other couple we met here in Weipa. Absolutely loved it so much we gave them your Brisbane address.
Well Colin, must away, am starting work at Woolworths tomorrow. Hope to hear back from you. Say hi to Mal from us.
Cheers.
Gordon and Annie Ailey.

Dear Colin,,
Just a few line to tell you about our adventures with the Paramount series 2 Have just returned from 3 weeks 4140km trip from Broken Hill via Tibooburra to Innamincka via Strzeleki trek through to Camerons Cnr to Cordillo Downs ro Birdsville and down the Birdsville track home. Some of the worst road in Australia consisting of stones mud and Bull dust with washouts and creek crossings detours to avoid large bog holes. The van was tortured with flying stone and dust. But came through with very little damage. Only the water tank fittings breaking the plastic pipe connection and filling the front tap on the A frame with mud and gravel making it unusable but we are very proud of the productas it towed beautifully.
I have written to Paramount telling same and offering some advice to improvement for future buyers to uphold the name Paramount. This was a torture test and some van and c/trailers had expensive repairs and broken axels. We are very happy and the unit has proved itself over this trip. Hope to see you soon.
Thanks again.
Kevin and Kathy Jones.
PS; Total KM 7000 now.
